F. Sigit Santoso

F. Sigit Santoso was born in Ngawi, East Java in 1964. In 1993, Sigit completed his art education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta. Sigit's work first participated in a joint exhibition in 2001, in "Kecil Itu Indah 9", at Edwin's Gallery, Jakarta and "Art Singapore - Contemporary Asian Art Exhibition", in Singapore. From then on, Sigit's works are often displayed at various joint exhibitions in Indonesia. Sigit's work first took part in overseas exhibitions in 2003 during a joint exhibition of "Passion: Etno-Identity" in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Sigit performed his first solo exhibition in 2003, titled "Pain Think" at Edwin's Gallery, Jakarta. Sigit's other solo exhibitions include: "Paradox Boundary" at Edwin's Gallery, Sigit has received several awards: Best Works Dies natalis ISI V, Yogyakarta (1990), Best Work of Art Student Festival in Indonesia, Yogyakarta (1992), Best Work of Biennale IV Yogyakarta (1994), 10 Best Paintings "The Phillip Morris group Indonesian Art Awards (1994), Finalists of "The 2006 Sovereign Asian Art Prize", Hong Kong, and Finalists "The 2007 Sovereign Asian Art Prize", Hong Kong.
